About the Workshop
Discover how anatomy connects directly to movement practice in this focused 3-hour In-Lab workshop for yoga and Pilates practitioners.
Many movement educators can confidently demonstrate poses and sequences, yet still feel uncertain when:
students compensate without a clear understanding of why
cues don’t consistently produce the intended movement
alignment looks correct, but doesn’t feel right in the body
These challenges often come from not being able to connect what you see in movement with what is actually happening beneath the surface.
This workshop bridges that gap by showing you real anatomical structures using cadaveric specimens. You’ll gain a clearer understanding of movement at its source, so you can teach with greater clarity, precision, and confidence instead of guesswork.

FAQs
Where is the lab located?
We are located in the Granite Technical Institute building at 2500 S. State St. in South Salt Lake City. Park in the west parking lot and enter the building through the main west entrance portico. The lab is on the 4th floor, room 408.
What should I wear?
Clothes that you will be comfortable in for 3 hours of learning, much of which will be standing around different work stations. The lab is outfitted with all necessary equipment, protocols, and security to ensure the safety of students. This includes emergency eye wash stations, fume hoods to ensure proper ventilation, hygiene stations, and protective gear.
Does it smell weird in the lab?
While it does not smell like formaldehyde or decomposition, there is a slight odor from the cleaning products and from the preservation agent we spray the cadavers with. The odor is not overwhelming, but there is a slight scent that most people are not aware of after 2 to 3 minutes in the lab.
What if I am uneasy about being near cadavers?
This is an understandable concern, as not everybody is comfortable being in the cadaver lab. However, 99% of students who expressed concerns find that it is much more tolerable than imagined and end up having a great experience. For the other 1%, there are areas outside the lab you can retreat to if the experience is a little too intense.
